Since I only use one putty session every time, I deleted the original putty taskbar pin. This will be an additional putty taskbar item if you already had the standard putty pinned to taskbar. You can now delete or move the shortcut, if you wish.Right-click the shortcut again and choose "Pin to Taskbar" Organise your sessions into folders Launch folders of sessions simultaneously Assign Windows hotkeys to your ten favourite sessions Browse session folders.example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\PuTTY\putty.exe" -load dev-db.In the Target field, at the end append “-load putty-session-name”.Right-click on this shortcut and select properties.When the software starts, a window titled PuTTY Configuration should open. Otherwise, open the software from the Windows Start menu. Rename this shortcut to your favorite name. Running PuTTY and connecting to a server If you selected to create a desktop icon during installation, you can start the software simply by (double-)clicking on the icon.If you find yourself in the same boat as me, which is that updated versions of PuTTy do not fix this issue, you can use the following workaround that I found here:
